LIMITED EDITION PRINT by Nicolas Trudgian
We are proud to announce a most unusual print publication that is very different to our previous Knight's Cross Collection prints. 'Star of Afrika' pays tribute to Hans-Joachim Marseille, thought by many to be the finest fighter pilot in history. It portrays him in a typical dogfight over the desert sands of North Afrika.
Our publisher has managed to acquire a good number of Marseille's original wartime combat reports written and signed by Marseille himself. These are now available in companion with the 'Star of Afrika' print as 'The Marseille Archive Edition'. Each print is inscribed with the same number as the combat report which it accompanies and is further enhanced by the signatures of two Knight's Cross holders and a superb triple-sized remarque drawing. Uniquely, each remarque will depict the actual victory described in the matching combat report creating a collector's item of remarkable originality.
The cost of the Marseille Archive Edition prints reflects the great value of these combat reports which are truly museum quality exhibits. For our collectors who are keen to purchase this very attractive print without the Marseille combat report and remarque we are offering a further 158 prints in the 'Victory Edition'. These carry the signatures of two Knight's Cross holders and, in an unusual departure, are personalised by the Artist who has written the specific date of the Marseille victory that corresponds to the number of each individual print.
